Scale
Ingredients
- 1 (16-ounce) package spaghetti
- 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
- 1 (5.2-ounce) package Boursin Cheese (Garlic and Fine Herbs or Basil and Chive flavor)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Prepare the spaghetti according to the package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Be sure not to overcook; the pasta should be al dente. Do not drain the pasta fully, as some starch water will help later with the sauce.
- Heat the sauce: While the pasta cooks, pour the marinara sauce into a large skillet and warm it over medium heat until it starts to bubble gently.
- Add the cheese: Add the Boursin cheese to the warm marinara sauce. Use a spoon to break the cheese into smaller pieces and stir continuously until the cheese has completely melted and incorporated into a creamy sauce.
- Combine pasta and sauce: Once the pasta is al dente, use a pasta fork or tongs to lift it directly from the pasta water into the skillet with the sauce. Let any excess pasta water drain back into the pot before adding. Toss the pasta thoroughly in the sauce to coat every strand evenly. Taste and add additional salt if needed.
- Serve: Serve the pasta warm as a satisfying side dish or a main entree, enjoying the creamy, flavorful sauce that complements the spaghetti perfectly.
Notes
- You can reserve some of the pasta cooking water to loosen the sauce if it becomes too thick.
- Boursin cheese comes in various herb flavors; choose your favorite or what you have on hand.
- This recipe is very versatile and can be customized by adding cooked vegetables or proteins.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
