- 1 (16-ounce) box vanilla flavored candy coating
- Sprinkles, for decorating (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the puff corn: Place the puff corn in a very large pan or bowl to ensure there is enough space for coating and mixing.
- Prepare workspace: Spread two large sheets of wax paper onto the counter to later spread and cool the coated puff corn.
- Melt the candy coating: Following the package instructions, melt the vanilla flavored candy coating in the microwave until smooth and pourable.
- Coat the puff corn: Drizzle the melted candy coating over the puff corn, then quickly stir to evenly coat all pieces before the coating hardens.
- Spread and decorate: Immediately spread the coated puff corn mixture out onto the prepared wax paper in a single layer. If desired, add colorful sprinkles on top for a festive touch.
- Cool and store: Allow the mixture to cool completely at room temperature. Once set, break into pieces and store in an airtight container for up to one week for optimal freshness.
Notes
- You can substitute the vanilla flavored candy coating with white chocolate chips melted similarly for a different flavor.
- For a more intense flavor, try adding a pinch of sea salt or cinnamon before mixing.
- Ensure you work quickly when mixing the candy coating with the puff corn, as it hardens fast.
- Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place to prevent the puff corn from becoming stale or sticky.
- This treat is best enjoyed within a week for maximum crunchiness.
