Ingredients
Scale
Homemade Pizza Dough
- 3/4 cup warm water (100 to 105 degrees F.)
- 3/4 tablespoon honey (or granulated sugar)
- 3/4 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3/4 tablespoon instant yeast
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- OR Use 12 ounces pre-made pizza dough
Pizza Roll Filling
- 8 ounces Mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
- Pizza toppings of your choice: pepperoni, ham, veggies, pineapple, etc.
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- Pizza sauce and/or ranch dressing for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare dish: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate or 9×9-inch baking dish and set aside.
- Make the dough: In the bowl of an electric stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine warm water, honey, vegetable oil, instant yeast, and salt. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Knead for 3 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Rest the dough: Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 10 minutes to relax and rise slightly.
- Roll out and cut dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 14×12-inch rectangle. Cut into 16 equal squares.
- Fill each square: Place cubed mozzarella and desired toppings (e.g., pepperoni, ham, pineapple) onto each square, being careful not to overfill.
- Form rolls: Pull the four corners of each dough square over the filling, pinching edges tightly to seal. Place each roll seam-side down into the prepared baking dish.
- Season rolls: Brush rolls with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until rolls are golden brown.
- Cool and serve: Remove from oven, let cool for 5 minutes, then serve warm with pizza sauce or ranch dressing for dipping.
Notes
- Be careful not to overfill the dough squares to ensure proper sealing and baking.
- You can substitute store-bought pizza dough to save time.
- Customize fillings to your preference, including veggies for a vegetarian option.
- Allow rolls to cool slightly before eating to avoid burns from hot cheese.
- These rolls freeze well; reheat in the oven for best texture.
