Description

Creamy Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread is a deliciously indulgent recipe combining tender seasoned chicken, rich Alfredo sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese on a crispy French bread base. Perfect for a comforting family meal or a crowd-pleasing appetizer, this dish features creamy, garlicky flavors baked to bubbling perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt (divided)
  • ¾ teaspoon black pepper (divided)
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast (cut into 1-inch pieces)
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil

Alfredo Sauce

  • 2 Tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garlic Bread

  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 4 Tablespoons salted butter (softened)
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • ½ Tablespoon parsley
  • 2 cups freshly grated Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: In a small bowl, combine ¾ teaspoon kosher salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, and ¼ teaspoon paprika. Evenly season both sides of the chicken pieces with the mixture to ensure balanced flavor.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon olive oil once hot. Add the seasoned chicken pieces; cook until the surface is browned, about 6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Continue cooking until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Transfer cooked chicken to a clean plate and cover to keep warm. Remove any burnt bits from the pan before proceeding.
  3. Prepare Alfredo Sauce: Using the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of salted butter over medium-low heat. Add 2 teaspoons minced garlic and sauté until fragrant for about 30 seconds, being careful not to brown the butter or garlic. Pour in 1½ cups heavy cream, then add ½ teaspoon kosher salt and ½ teaspoon black pepper. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a simmer over medium-low heat, stirring frequently to prevent curdling. Reduce sauce until it thickens to about 1 cup, approximately 8 minutes— it should lightly coat a spoon. Turn off heat and stir in 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted. Adjust seasoning with remaining salt and pepper as needed.
  4. Prepare Garlic Bread: Preheat oven to 400°F. Slice the French bread loaf lengthwise into two halves and place them cut side up on a large baking sheet. In a small bowl, mix together 4 tablespoons softened butter, 2 teaspoons minced garlic, and ½ tablespoon parsley. Spread the garlic butter evenly over both halves of bread. Bake in the oven for 6 minutes until slightly toasted.
  5. Assemble and Bake: Remove the bread from the oven carefully. Spread a generous layer of Alfredo sauce over the cut sides of the bread halves. Sprinkle 1 cup of freshly grated Mozzarella cheese on each half. Evenly distribute the cooked chicken pieces over the cheese, then top the chicken with an additional layer of Alfredo sauce. Return to the oven and bake for another 12 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven, slice the bread into pieces, and serve warm. Enjoy the creamy, savory combination of chicken Alfredo and crispy garlic bread.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese for best melting and flavor.
  • Do not brown the garlic or butter when making Alfredo sauce; this keeps the sauce smooth and flavorful.
  • Check chicken internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure safety and juiciness.
  • You can customize with fresh herbs like basil or oregano if desired.
  • Serve immediately for best texture; leftovers can be reheated in the oven but may lose crispiness.
