- 250 g Honey
- 150 g Toasted almonds
- 150 g Toasted hazelnuts
- 100 g Breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 0.5 tsp Ground cloves
- 1 piece Zest of lemon (optional)

Instructions

- Mix Thoroughly: Use your hands or a spatula to mix until you achieve a cohesive blend, approximately 2-3 minutes. This helps in evenly distributing the ingredients and forming the texture.
- Shape the Alfajores: Press the mixture firmly into a suitable mold or shape into bars with your hands, about ยฝ inch thick to ensure uniform pieces.
- Set the Alfajores: Allow your alfajores to set for at least 30 minutes at room temperature so they firm up properly and hold their shape.
- Finish with Powdered Sugar: Once set, dust your alfajores with powdered sugar to add a snowy elegance and enhance their appearance and taste.
Notes
- Ensure almonds and hazelnuts are well toasted to bring out their full flavor and aroma.
- You can crush the nuts finely for a more uniform texture or leave them coarser for added crunch.
- The lemon zest is optional but provides a fresh aromatic note that balances the sweetness.
- Pressing firmly helps the alfajores retain their shape as they set.
- Store alfajores in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain freshness.
