Ingredients
Scale
Liquid Base
- 2 cups water
Fruit
- 1 cup frozen dragon fruit
- 1/2 cup chopped mango
- 1/2 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 2 lemons worth of zest
Sweetener & Seasoning
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/8 tsp kosher salt or Celtic sea salt
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Gather all the ingredients including frozen dragon fruit, chopped mango, freshly squeezed lemon juice with lemon zest, water, honey, and salt. Make sure the dragon fruit is frozen for a chilled effect.
- Blend the Ingredients: Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender. Add water, dragon fruit, mango, lemon juice, lemon zest, and salt first. Add the honey last to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the blender. Begin blending on low speed.
- Increase Blending Speed: After 30 seconds on low speed, gradually increase the blender speed to medium-high and blend for an additional 1 minute and 30 seconds. The mixture should become frothy and uniformly blended.
- Strain the Lemonade: Place a nut milk bag or fine mesh sieve over a large pitcher or bowl. Pour the blended lemonade through the sieve or bag to strain out pulp and seeds, ensuring a smooth drink.
- Chill and Serve: Transfer the strained lemonade into a glass bottle or jar. Chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours until cold. Alternatively, pour the lemonade over ice cubes and serve immediately for a refreshing beverage.
Notes
- If you prefer a sweeter lemonade, you can adjust the amount of honey to taste.
- Using frozen dragon fruit helps chill the drink without diluting it with ice.
- Straining the mixture helps remove seeds and pulp for a smoother texture but can be skipped if you prefer a more rustic lemonade.
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice is best for bright, tangy flavor but bottled lemon juice can be substituted in a pinch.
- Stir well before serving as natural settling might occur.
