Ingredients
Scale
Jell-O Layers
- ½ package Pink Starburst Jell-O (a little under 2 ounces)
- 1½ ounces Blue Jell-O (½ package)
- 1½ ounces Yellow Jell-O (½ package)
- 1½ ounces Purple Jell-O (½ package)
- 16 ounces Whipped Cream (divided)
- 3 cups Boiling Water
- 1⅓ cups Cold Water (divided)
- Yellow Food Dye (optional)
- Pink Food Dye (optional)
Crust
- 2½ cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
- 12 tbsp Butter (1½ sticks)
Instructions
- Melt Butter: Melt your butter in the microwave until it’s fully liquified, ensuring it will blend smoothly with the graham cracker crumbs.
- Make Crust Mixture: Combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a medium bowl and mix until the texture resembles thick, wet sand.
- Form Crust: Place the graham cracker mixture into a springform pan. Press it evenly across the bottom and up the sides to create a sturdy crust layer.
- Freeze Crust: Put the crust in the freezer to firm up while preparing the Jell-O layers.
- Prepare Jell-O Powders: Divide each color of Jell-O powder into separate small bowls. Pour ¾ cup boiling water into each bowl and stir until all granules dissolve completely.
- Add Cold Water: Stir in ⅓ cup cold water to each Jell-O mixture and mix well.
- Chill Jell-O Mixtures: Refrigerate the Jell-O bowls for 20-30 minutes, just until the mixtures thicken but do not solidify.
- Combine with Whipped Cream: Add 4 ounces of whipped cream to each thickened Jell-O mixture. Vigorously mix until fully incorporated and creamy. This will take about a minute or two per bowl.
- Add Food Dye (Optional): If desired, stir in yellow or pink food dye to the respective Jell-O mixtures to enhance their colors until uniform.
- Layer the Pie: Spoon the first colored Jell-O layer (yellow recommended) evenly over the crust. Freeze for 5 minutes to set. Repeat layering each color, freezing 5 minutes between each addition, until all four layers are in place.
- Final Freeze: Freeze the entire pie for 3-4 hours or until completely solidified.
- Serve: Optionally top with additional whipped cream before slicing and serving. Enjoy your festive and creamy Easter Jello-O Pie!
Notes
- Use a springform pan for easy removal of the pie.
- Don’t fully set the Jell-O before adding whipped cream; it should be thick but still pourable.
- Food dye is optional but helps brighten colors for festive presentation.
- Freezing between layers helps keep the layers distinct and neat.
- Serve chilled for a refreshing dessert perfect for spring celebrations.
