Instructions
- Prepare the sausage and onion: In a large skillet, cook the pork sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart into crumbles as it cooks. Add the diced onion and sautรฉ for 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant. Drain any excess fat from the skillet and set aside.
- Mix the eggs and seasonings: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until fully combined.
- Combine ingredients: Add the thawed hash brown potatoes, cooked sausage and onion mixture, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese into the bowl with the egg mixture. Stir everything together until evenly combined.
- Assemble the casserole: Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Transfer the hash brown mixture into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly on top.
- Bake the casserole: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes or until the casserole is set and the cheese on top is melted and golden brown.
