Description

This refreshing and invigorating Homemade Ginger Shots recipe combines fresh ginger, turmeric, lemon juice, and coconut water to create a nutrient-packed wellness boost. Sweetened lightly with honey or maple syrup and balanced with a hint of sea salt and black pepper, these shots are perfect for a quick, healthy pick-me-up. Enjoy a 2 oz serving to support digestion and immunity with natural ingredients, all blended and strained for a smooth, potent drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 4 oz (110g) fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric or 1 oz fresh turmeric
  • 2 medium lemons, juiced (55g juice)
  • 1 ยฝ cups (12 oz or 345g) coconut water
  • 1 tbsp (20g) honey or maple syrup (add more as needed)
  • 1/4 tsp celtic sea salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep the ginger and lemon. Thoroughly wash the fresh ginger root; peeling is optional since the mixture will be strained later. Juice the lemons to get approximately 55 grams of fresh juice.
  2. Blend the shots. Place the ginger, turmeric, lemon juice, coconut water, honey (or maple syrup), celtic sea salt, and a pinch of black pepper into a high-speed blender. Start blending on low speed and gradually increase to medium-high. Blend for 2 full minutes until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  3. Strain and store. Using a nut milk bag or fine mesh sieve, strain the blended mixture over a bowl or wide-mouth jar to remove pulp and fibers. Pour the strained ginger shot liquid into a clean glass jar and refrigerate. The shots can be stored in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  4. Serve. For each serving, pour 2 oz of the ginger shot into a small glass and enjoy immediately for the best flavor and nutritional benefit.

Notes

  • Peeling ginger is optional since the juice is strained, but be sure to wash it well.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey or maple syrup to suit your taste.
  • Fresh turmeric may be used instead of ground turmeric for a fresher flavor.
  • Ginger shots can be prepared in advance and stored refrigerated for up to one week.
  • Shake or stir well before each serving as ingredients may settle.
