Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 6 cups Honey Ohs Cereal
- 1/2 cup dehydrated marshmallows
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 cup chocolate chips (milk chocolate or semi-sweet)
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 3 sheets graham crackers (blended to crumbs)
Instructions
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the honey cereal, dehydrated marshmallows, and mini chocolate chips. Set this mixture aside. Also, pulse the graham cracker sheets in a blender until they become fine crumbs and set aside.
- Make Peanut Butter-Chocolate Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, add peanut butter, chocolate chips, unsalted butter, and salt. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until the mixture melts completely and is smooth. If using, stir in vanilla extract for extra flavor.
- Coat Cereal: Pour the melted peanut butter and chocolate mixture over the cereal mix. Gently stir using a spatula to coat evenly, taking care not to crush the cereal pieces.
- Layer and Shake with Powdered Sugar: In a large resealable bag, alternate layering powdered sugar and the coated cereal. Start with 1/2 cup powdered sugar, then add one-third of the cereal, repeat twice more with sugar and cereal. Seal the bag and shake vigorously until the cereal is well coated.
- Add Graham Cracker Crumbs: Open the bag, add the blended graham cracker crumbs, then reseal and shake again to fully incorporate and coat the mixture.
- Serve: Transfer the finished S’mores Muddy Buddies to a clean bowl and enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for later snacking.
Notes
- Use creamy peanut butter for a smoother coating; natural peanut butter may separate and affect texture.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute butter and chocolate chips with plant-based alternatives.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Be gentle when stirring the cereal after adding the melted mixture to avoid crushing the cereal pieces.
- Optional vanilla extract enhances the flavor but can be omitted.
