Ingredients
Scale
Slider Base
- 12 plain white soft dinner rolls or slider buns
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- ¼ cup (60 g) whole-egg mayonnaise
Filling
- 2 cups leftover chopped/shredded/sliced turkey, with or without skin
- ¼ cup (60 g) leftover gravy (optional)
- ¼ cup (70 g) cranberry sauce
- 8 slices Swiss cheese (or cheese of choice: provolone, gouda, mozzarella, or brie)
Garlic Butter Glaze
- 80 g (2¾ oz) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
- ½ tsp sea salt flakes
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to preheat at 200°C (400°F) or 180°C (350°F) if using a fan-forced oven to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Assemble the sliders base: Keep the rolls attached and slice the whole slab in half horizontally. Spread Dijon mustard evenly over the bottom half, followed by a layer of mayonnaise, ensuring even coverage.
- Layer the filling: Distribute the chopped turkey evenly over the mayonnaise-coated rolls. If available, drizzle leftover gravy over the turkey, then spoon small dollops of cranberry sauce on top to add flavor contrast.
- Add the cheese: Place slices of Swiss cheese over the turkey and toppings, overlapping as needed to cover the surface well. Position the top halves of the rolls on the assembled filling to form sliders. Transfer the entire slab to a snug rectangular roasting pan or baking dish, making sure the sliders are touching for even baking.
- Make the garlic butter glaze: In a small bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter with finely chopped parsley, sea salt flakes, and garlic powder. Mix well to form the flavorful glaze.
- Brush and bake: Generously brush the garlic butter glaze over the tops of the rolls. Reserve about 1 tablespoon of the glaze for later use. Cover the pan with foil and bake the sliders for 15 minutes. Then, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 8 to 10 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
- Finish and serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and run a knife between the rolls to separate them into individual portions. Optionally, brush the remaining garlic butter over the tops for extra gloss and flavor. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- You can substitute the plain white rolls with slider buns of your choice for variation.
- If you don’t have leftover gravy, simply omit it or substitute with a light turkey or chicken broth drizzle to keep moistness.
- Feel free to swap Swiss cheese with provolone, gouda, mozzarella, or brie according to your preference.
- The sliders are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated gently.
- To make clean slices between sliders, let them cool slightly after baking before cutting.
