Description

Refreshing and hydrating watermelon lemonade perfect for hot summer days. This homemade beverage combines fresh watermelon juice with tangy lemon juice and a touch of sweetness, served chilled with ice and optionally sparkling water for a fizzy twist.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh watermelon, cut into 1-inch cubes, peel and large seeds removed
  • 8 fresh lemons
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup or liquid honey
  • 4 cups water or sparkling water
  • Ice, as needed
  • Lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare Watermelon: Chop the watermelon into 1-inch cubes, carefully removing the peel and any large seeds to ensure a smooth beverage.
  2. Juice the Lemons: Squeeze the fresh lemons to extract all the juice needed for the lemonade base.
  3. Blend Ingredients: Combine the watermelon cubes, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and simple syrup or honey in a blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and evenly combined.
  4. Strain the Mixture: Pour the blended watermelon lemonade mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl or pitcher to remove pulp and solids, yielding approximately 4 cups of watermelon lemonade concentrate.
  5. Serve: Mix equal parts watermelon lemonade concentrate and cold water or sparkling water in a large pitcher over ice. Alternatively, fill each glass with half a cup of concentrate, add ice, and top with water or sparkling water. Garnish with lemon slices and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use chilled watermelon and lemons for the best refreshing flavor.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup or honey according to taste.
  • For a sparkling version, substitute still water with sparkling water for a fizzy drink.
  • Can be prepared ahead and refrigerated for up to 24 hours; stir well before serving.
